Today is that day 1/1, the day so many of us get to do over the past…..year. We set new weight goals. New relationship goals. New things we want to accomplish. Join new clubs and take on new challenges. There is something special about “new” things; having them, getting them, giving them. Newness can be both energizing and uplifting. I get it. I love the new too.
As we begin our walk of faith this year, as we start afresh on our journey of “new”, let us remember that God never changes. He is the same today as he was yesterday, as he was 100 years ago, as he was 2,000 years ago.
Whatever your plans are for this year, keep God first. Let him bring about the freshness you seek in your life. Hope in the Lord, and remember his plans for you. Yes, write your goals and while doing so pray that your desires align with his will for your life.
For it is written, Lamentations 3:23:
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.”
Happy New Year!
